Bought these in Jan 2021. Difficult to mount light to bracket with included hex wrench but if you get a longer hex wrench it goes a lot smoother. No problem with these working or getting water in them. Only problem I see is the lens has taken on a very distinct yellow hue, not sure why this would happen, I believe the lenses are glass and not plastic. Not super worried about it but it the turn more yellow I will probably take off and replace.Installed these as work lights on my new compact tractor. Solid construction, just the right amount of light & current draw for my application. They seem very weatherproof and I'm very satisfied with this purchase.I am really impressed by the high quality look and feel of these lights and the high value considering the low cost. If I didn't know better, this set could easily pass for a $40 or $50 package, or more.I bought these to mount in the front of an Ariens Platinum 30 snowblower, just on top of the auger housing, to provide a shadow-free light with higher efficiency than that of the original dash-mounted 20W halogen bulb. After rectification and filtering of the alternator's AC output I ended up with an output of around 15VDC. Fortunately regulation to 12v was not needed because of the floodlight's wide 10-30VDC operating range. The floodlight housings are made of very substantial cast aluminum with fins that serve as heat sinks, even though very little heat is generated by the LED/driver array at typical 12-14VDC vehicle voltages. The black pigtail leads are heavily jacketed with a soft and pliable insulation. All the hardware had comes with the set appears to be stainless steel, and the mounting brackets and the floodlights are finished with a durable black powder coat. The mounting brackets are made of heavy gauge steel with stamped ribs on the base to add to the rigidity. The light output is a very cool white (the listing specifies 6000K) with some minor non-uniformity of the color over the radius of the projected spot. I have not tested the long-range throw of these lights, but the projected pattern at about 15ft seems to be a single cool round spot with a slightly warmer yellowish halo. At least at this short range it does not appear to throw a wider horizontal beam as you might suspect given the shape of the lens array. It should be noted that these lights are rated at 18 watts for the pair, with each lamp rated at a nominal 9 watts. And in fact when I tested each on the bench I was seeing a current of about 0.62 amps at 12.6VDC input, which really indicates a lower 7.8 watts power, and I suspect that the actual LED-only power is a little less than that. It is possible that the manufacturer's rating is based on a higher input voltage, because while the power of each lamp does indeed increase as input voltage increases, the added power is being dissipated as heat in the driver circuit, not additional light. Nevertheless, the lamps are extremely bright and more than adequate for my application. One very minor issue that I should mention - I did find my steel mounting brackets to be slightly under-formed, which in itself is not a problem because they will bend as they are tightened to the light housing. However even when the bracket's ears are squeezed together to be perfectly vertical they are a little too wide for the attach point on the lamp housing, Although you can use them as-is, four added washers will make for a prettier installation. Each bracket should have a spacing washer (not supplied) inserted on each side between the bracket and the lamp housing to fill the space. With the spacers in place the brackets will look square (and not over-bent) when the socket-head screws are tightened. You could use stainless washers, or nylon washers as I did which give the ability to smoothly adjust the vertical tilt of the lights without having to loosen the screws. You may find that the lowest tilt angle of the lights is limited by the height of the large nut used to mount the lights to your vehicle. I used a nylon locking nut instead of the supplied hex nut and lock washer, which may be a bit taller than necessary. With this locknut the lights cannot be tilted down any further than horizontal. I think that a lower profile nut without any lock washer (using Loctite instead) would allow the light to tilt down slightly.Overall I think that this is a quality product at a very good price, and I highly recommend it.VERY BRIGHTThey work as advertised. Only frustration is very small gauge wires so crimping a spade connector on to go with a pre-made harness is a pain. Best just to solder and heat shrink than struggle with connectors.I'm using one of these for a headlight for my Kayak. Getting the bracket attached is a real pain. Getting the small nut in place to get the allen head bolt to engage the threads is annoying and needs to be redesigned.Very bright and easy to installI ordered a set of 4 (four) and I ended up using them as additional backup lights (2 on a Jeep and one for every other 2 cars in the family). We live at the end of a cul-de-sac at a top of a hill and there are no street lights in our circle; I needed to see what is behind the car when backing up from the driveway after dark (as most of the vehicles built in the last 20 years have useless backup lights; they are more to let others know that you are going to move backwards, than to illuminate the area and help you see what is behind you). In the same time, I needed some lamps that were going to be narrow and flat and to illuminate in a matter that is similar with some fog lights (to illuminate the street in a relatively narrow but wide band) so that I can see through the side mirrors what is behind the vehicle.I have them installed for over 6 months now and I am pretty satisfied with them. The lamps provide a combination between a spot and a flood light; mount them too low and you may not have enough downwards adjustment available to get the proper illuminated area. If you aim them a little bit upwards, they are too bright and blinding for the other people on the street (either being on foot or in a car) and without giving you much usefulness.I installed them under the rear bumper of our cars, by drilling a hole in the rear sidewall of the spare tire well (which is a little bit offset to the left, but that gives more rear illumination on the driver side). I chose that location for two reasons: to have the lamp protected by the spare wheel well (that is located under the trunk) from being hit by road debris or bumps and to cut off the upward glare by shielding the upper side of the light beam with the lower side of the rear bumper. On the Jeep I installed 2 of them under the tow hitch, by drilling and threading holes in the lower side of the cross square tubing. They are each aimed slightly sideways, thus extending the side view illumination through the outside mirrors, as the rear glass is tinted and it does not provide any view of the area behind the vehicle within 25-30 feet distance.NOTE: actual mechanical installation of these lamps is tricky and require planning, time and a lot of patience. It is not for the inexperienced, or for the people that do not have mechanical skills and patience. Having fat fingers (like mine) did not help either. I still have some perseverance, however.Aiming the lamps after installation is another important step. I went to a hardware store (with a lamp in my hand) and purchased some Stainless Steel flat washers (to put on both sides of the bracket) and some (plastic) lock nuts to ensure that the lamps will not become loose and move down (due to their weight and vibrations). I completely tighten the nuts at the end of aiming process using a longer Allen wrench (than the one provided). Using a T-handle Allen wrench (to drive the bolt) will be a better option!I will take some pictures when I will get the time to do it and I will post them for your viewing experience.Depending on your vehicle, installation and setup may be easy or difficult. In my case, mounting the lights was fairly easy, however the problem is running wires through the firewall.Biggest benefit is that you can easily adjust light beam up or down, left or right. In my case I have mine setup to beam to the right and down more as I struggle with OEM Chevy Volt lights. These are a real savior and would recommend any time. Make sure to buy wiring harness as well. It is well worth given that it (harness) comes with enough wire, relay, switch, fuse box.Lights are very good quality, biggest complaint would be the method of attaching the lower bracket to the light itself. Very difficult to mount the bracket to the vehicle and then mount the light to the bracket. Attaching the actual nuts to the light itself, so that it would be a simple matter of insert the mounting bolt .I bought these to match a pair that I already had on my Kubota. These ones cost a little more than the others I saw on Amazon so figure they would be better quality. These light are not nearly as bright as the identical pair I already have on my Kubota. If your looking for a bright work light, these are not it.High quality for the price. Well engineered, in that all the fasteners are retained. I mounted these on a golf cart and they put out more than enough light.Look great but performance no good
